Celebrity Pancake Bake-Off
EXPERIENCE PANCAKES LIKE NEVER BEFORE AT POPULAR STELLENBOSCH SLOW MARKET
Pancakes, one of the favourite snacks that South Africans enjoy especially during winter, will be celebrated like never before at the popular Stellenbosch Slow Market on Saturday, 25 June 2016, with a special Pancake and Lemon theme planned for the day.
Some top celebrities will be competing against each other in order to raise funds for charity by determining who can bake the best pancake, while visitors will also be able to gawk at a pancake machine designed in the 1960’s that can produce up to 200 pancakes an hour.
The Pancake Ladies of Ommihoek Pannekoek will be showcasing Blink Stefaans (as they affectionately call the pancake machine) from 10:00 to 14:00, selling pancakes in aid of charity at a mere R10 per pancake.
Funds raised by the pancake sales will be pooled together for the pancake bake-off between actress/TV presenter Vicky Davis and her musician husband Schalk Joubert, model/TV presenter Ewan Strydom and singer/actress Nedine Blom, which will take place from 12:00. Top judges will determine which celebrity has star power in the kitchen as well, with money raised donated to the winner’s charity of choice.
The Stellenbosch Slow Market is reputed for bringing food straight from the producer to your table – ranging from cheese, just out of the oven-baked, meats, olives, free-range chickens, slow-roasted pork and the freshest veg straight from the farm, amongst so much more.
Put some hearty warmth into your winter. Come for breakfast, come for lunch but do not miss the most fun anyone can have with a pancake on the day.
There is no entry fee for the Stellenbosch Slow Food Market – and there is ample parking.
