GET TICKLED PINK AT THE STELLENBOSCH SLOW MARKET WITH FIRST ANNUAL PINK MARDI GRAS DAY
WIN TOP PRIZES AT POPULAR MARKET: DRESS UP IN SOMETHING FABULOUS AND PINK TO CELEBRATE SPRING
The Stellenbosch Slow Market will present its first annual Pink Mardi Gras Market on Saturday, 03 September, where everything fabulously pink will be celebrated.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of pink inspired foods and activities, and are encouraged to dress up in the spirit of the theme in order to win some top prizes.
Pink wine and sparkling wine, smoothies, cakes and other delights such as candy floss and frozen yogurt, as well as pink flowers, balloons, apples and other delicious pink inspired food are just some of the items that will be available on the day. The pink balloons will be on sale in order to raise funds for the children’s charity, Force4Good.
Well known media personality Grant Hinds, cookbook author Hein Scholtz, Charl Reineke, as well as others will be judging visitors wearing the best pink outfits on the day in order to award them with a variety of great prizes. The more outrageous, the better!
In celebration of the start of spring, people of all ages are encouraged to bring picnic blankets, as there is ample space on the luscious lawns of the Oude Libertas.
Apart from the pink highlights of the day, visitors can also look forward to a variety of delicious surprises and produce fresh from the farm. This ranges from the beloved Malmesbury farmer, Colleen Lesch, with her highly popular, free-range chickens to Ollie’s Fine Meats and Sausages, produced from grass-fed and gluten free animals. Also available are Schoon de Companje as a ‘must stop’ destination for everything bread and the freshest vegetables thanks to the Green Road initiative. So come one, come all and be part of the fabulous fun.
There is no entry fee to the market and ample parking is available. For more information, visit www.slowmarket.co.za, call + 27 21 886 8514 or send an email to brand@slowmarket.co.za.
